People learn and absorb information differently. The key is to remain a student throughout life and the technical meetings together with published research findings offer a broad menu of ways to learn more about wine and winegrowing systems.

Staying current is critical. Also, there are new people coming into the industry in winegrowing countries and regions all over the world. These individuals bring new skills and approaches to addressing our core questions. The Society and publications are the path to those researchers and their findings.

What does ASEV mean to you?

Recorded history in written format is what our culture is built upon. ASEV is one of the world’s leading organizations to collect and disseminate such information. The Society is also a conduit to the researchers and leads to one-on-one contact.

As a professional organization with active winemakers and winegrowers, wine educational institutions and wine and grape scientists throughout the United States and internationally, ASEV is a tremendous resource for networking. The Society’s connections provide interaction, problem solving, site visits, journal research and practical applications that are crucial to professional growth.

I believe that an ASEV membership is essential to having a fully rounded and grounded wine/vine career.

I wanted to work at the top of my profession, and ASEV facilitated that in many ways.
