The 2026 ASEV National Conference brought the wine and grape community together in Boise for four memorable days of research, professional connections and celebration.

Held June 15–18 at the Boise Centre in Boise, Idaho, the joint conference between the American Society for Enology and Viticulture (ASEV) and the ASEV Eastern Section marked an exciting milestone for both organizations. Although the two groups previously held a joint conference in Austin, Texas, in 2014, this was their first time convening together in Boise. The Boise Centre provided an outstanding venue, offering modern meeting spaces, convenient access to nearby hotels, and a vibrant, walkable downtown where attendees could enjoy restaurants and connect with colleagues after each day’s sessions.

The joint conference also expanded opportunities for researchers, students, educators and industry professionals from different regions to learn from one another. Meeting rooms were filled with technical presentations, research reports and award lectures, while conversations continued in the hallways, at receptions and throughout downtown Boise.

There was plenty of fun alongside the science. The Student-Industry Mixer and regional wine reception gave attendees opportunities to reconnect with longtime colleagues and make new connections. The Idaho Wine Commission sponsored both events and donated a selection of Idaho wines, giving attendees the opportunity to taste and explore the state’s growing wine industry.

Oenolympics brought an especially lively spirit to the week as teams competed, laughed and cheered one another on. Visit Boise also helped attendees experience the region beyond downtown by donating transportation for the vineyard and winery tour. The support made it possible for participants to visit local vineyards and wineries and gain a deeper understanding of Idaho’s wine landscape.

Throughout the conference, attendees embraced the new destination and its welcoming atmosphere. Whether exchanging ideas during a technical session, sharing a meal downtown, tasting Idaho wines or exploring the region, participants made the most of their time together.

Thank you to the speakers, volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors and attendees who made the joint conference a success. The photos tell the story of an energized community that came together to learn, connect and have fun. Those who missed Boise will not want to miss the next ASEV National Conference in Napa, California, June 14 – 17, 2027, at the Napa Valley Marriott.
