Job Description:

The Integrated Vineyard Systems Area Advisor will implement an extension education and applied research program to develop and extend knowledge on designing and managing vineyards adapted to changing climate and market conditions with a focus on the premium wine industry of the region

The Advisor will provide leadership, information transfer, and technical help in this prestigious wine-production area; addressing an increasing array of needs around adapted wine grape plant materials; current best practices in vineyard design for plant health, productivity and longevity; production costs; precision farming; winegrowing farming certification systems. The Advisor educates and assists growers to meet regulatory compliance with regulations specifically focused on vineyard farming practices. 

Education:

A minimum of a master’s degree in plant sciences with a concentration in viticulture or a closely related field is required at time of appointment.
