ASEV Recognizes 2026-2027 Scholarship Recipients

ASEV proudly recognized 20 students with scholarships supporting their education in enology, viticulture and related sciences.

George Zhuang of the University of California, Riverside, received the ASEV Presidents’ Award for Scholarship in Viticulture. Holley Eaton of Brock University received the Dennis Martin Scholarship as the top enology scholarship recipient and Taran Rowles of The Pennsylvania State University received the Mike Vail Scholarship as the top viticulture recipient.

The recipients represent universities throughout the United States and Canada and reflect the promising future of wine and grape research, education and production.

In addition to the Society’s longstanding scholarship program, ASEV established the American Society for Enology and Viticulture Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, in 2023 that is dedicated to securing the future of scholarships for students pursuing careers in enology and viticulture.

The Foundation was created to build long-term financial support for the next generation of wine and grape professionals. Its goal is to establish sustainable funding that will provide consistent scholarship opportunities for students for years to come. By growing a permanent source of scholarship funding, the Foundation will help ensure that future generations of aspiring enologists, viticulturists, and grape and wine researchers have access to the educational resources they need to advance the industry.
