Tom CollinsDr. Tom Collins, assistant professor at the Wine Science Center at Washington State University (WSU), Tri-Cities, has been confirmed as 2021-2022 ASEV president as of July 1. Known for his extensive work in chemical analysis and, more recently, smoke exposure in wine, Dr. Collins has been an active ASEV member since 1993. For more information, click here.

The Board also welcomes new incoming directors Hope Goldie, Director of Winemaking at Darioush Winery in California and Yun Zhang, Viticulturist at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates in Washington. We thank outgoing director Torey Arvik, Chief Science Officer at Sonomaceuticals/WholeVine Products in California, for his service. Additionally, the board appointed Jim Harbertson of Washington State University, Tri-Cities as the Technical Program Director for a second term.
