Dr. Linda Bisson

cat·a·lyst
\ˈka-tə-ləst\ | noun

  • a substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction without itself undergoing any permanent chemical change.
  • a person or thing that precipitates an event.
By definition, Dr. Linda Bisson is a catalyst.

For the past 16 years, under the passionate guidance of Linda Bisson, ASEV has pushed forward in disseminating technical research without ever compromising the highest scientific and editorial standards. As Linda relinquishes her well-respected position as ASEV science editor, the Society proudly recognizes her extraordinary volunteer efforts, which have had a lasting and critical impact on ASEV.

Linda’s tenure as science editor, an ASEV board position, began in 2000. Under her leadership, AJEV moved to an online publication, making it more accessible to members and students. She oversaw the transition of AJEV manuscript submission from mail-in to online submissions, restructured the editorial board, and as a parting gift to the Society, played a vital role in planning and developing our newest publication, Catalyst: Discovery into Practice.

On behalf of the board members, staff, and members-at-large, we would like to thank Linda Bisson for her extraordinary commitment to our organization and our industry. Her dedication to science, her passion for learning, her integrity, and her inestimable energy have all shaped a more sophisticated, advanced, and dynamic industry. We have grown under her bright smile and invaluable guidance.
