Bigger Scholarships for ASEV

The Society has been a big supporter of building up a new generation of professionals in the fields of enology and viticulture. Many professional members, including our past president Mark Greenspan, were once recipients of ASEV scholarships. This year, the Board raised the total scholarship amount given to students from $75,000 to $100,000. Join us in congratulating the 28 scholarship recipients from throughout the country, with special recognition to Jacob Uretsky of the University of California, Davis, for receiving the ASEV Michael Vail Scholarship.

The ASEV Board has also approved a new showcase scholarship program, named the ASEV President’s Award for Scholarship in Enology/Viticulture, beginning the 2017-2018 academic year. One enology and one viticulture student will be awarded scholarships (for a total of $25,000) for exceeding expectations of what is typically required. More information will be available online detailing the criteria and expectations for this new scholarship. All scholarship applications are due March 1 each year.
