ASEV Honors Larry Bettiga with 2025 Merit Award

Veteran viticulture advisor and researcher Larry Bettiga will receive ASEV’s highest honor at this year’s National Conference in Monterey. Bettiga will deliver the 2025 ASEV Merit Award presentation, “In the Question of Vine Development – Does Size Matter?” on Thursday, June 19, reflecting on his four decades of contributions to applied viticultural research and grower education.
Based in Monterey County with the UC Cooperative Extension, Bettiga has long been a trusted leader in advancing science-based practices for vineyard productivity, sustainability and grape quality. With over 450 technical publications to his name, his work has shaped the way wine grapes are grown across coastal California.
