The Joint 77th ASEV National Conference and 50th ASEV Eastern Section Annual Conference in Boise will give attendees the opportunity to hear directly from the authors behind this year’s AJEV Best Paper Awards during two special presentations highlighting innovative research in enology and viticulture.

On June 17, attendees can hear Jean C. Dodson Peterson present the award-winning enology paper, Influence of Berry Size on California-Grown Zinfandel Grapes and Wines (click paper title to read the full paper). This research explores how berry size may shape wine composition and quality in Zinfandel production, offering valuable insight for winemakers and researchers alike.

The following day, Kiley M. Osterman and Patricia A. Skinkis will present the award-winning viticulture paper, Long-term Citizen Science Project Led to Pinot noir Yield Management Changes (click paper title to read the full paper). Their work highlights how grower participation and long-term collaboration can help shape practical vineyard management decisions.

These presentations offer more than a summary of published research. They give attendees the chance to hear directly from the authors about the questions that inspired the work, the challenges encountered during the research process and the real-world relevance of the findings. For anyone interested in the latest developments in wine and grape research, the sessions provide an engaging opportunity to connect with the scientists behind the work and continue the conversation in person throughout the conference.
