Texas A&M’s Dr. Justin Scheiner to Receive ASEV Extension Distinction Award

Dr. Justin Scheiner, Associate Professor and Extension Viticulture Specialist at Texas A&M University, will be honored with the ASEV Extension Distinction Award at this year’s National Conference. His presentation, “Is Anyone Listening? Stakeholder Engagement in a Post-COVID World,” will take place on Wednesday, June 18, and will explore the evolving landscape of outreach in the grape and wine industry.
Known for his hands-on support of growers across Texas, Dr. Scheiner leads statewide education programs focused on sustainable practices and practical solutions—from canopy and irrigation management, to workshops addressing Pierce’s disease. His impact extends from academic research to real-world vineyard outcomes, making him a key figure in bridging science and grower success.
This award recognizes his dedication to responsive, results-driven extension work that continues to shape Texas’ fast-growing wine industry.
