Effective immediately, a Similarity Report will be generated automatically for all new manuscripts submitted to the American Journal of Enology and Viticulture (AJEV). Editorial Manager, AJEV’s manuscript tracking and review system, has been configured to interface with Similarity Check, a service provided by Crossref. By comparing new submissions to other published academic and web-based content, Similarity Check creates a report that outlines and summarizes the extent of overlap found across both content sources. This report can be accessed by all AJEV editors and assists in confirming that a submission meets the standard of research integrity expected of all content submitted to AJEV. The implementation of Similarity Check will prove useful in supporting both AJEV’s Artificial Intelligence Software Policy and the ASEV Board and Publications Committee’s interests in continuing to improve the Journal through strategic enhancements and modernization efforts.
