CSIRO offers PhD graduates an opportunity to launch their scientific careers through our Postdoctoral Fellowships. Successful applicants will work with leaders in the field of science, receive personal development and learning opportunities, and work with cutting edge technology.

We require a highly motivated early career research scientist to undertake strategic plant research on rapid phenotyping with application in viticulture. The successful applicant will join a research team based on the Waite Campus of the University of Adelaide that has a strong focus on grapevine improvement through better management technologies and genetics. The person will have a strong background in plant biology and a proven ability to carry out innovative strategic research with potential to deliver impact to the industry. The applicant should be familiar with non-destructive rapid plant phenotyping in field and/or glasshouse situations, be adept in the use and application of instrumentation and be willing to develop and pursue research opportunities for enhancing grapevine performance. The person will be expected to collaborate with other teams in CSIRO, in particular the High Resolution Plant Phenomics Centre, on application of novel phenotyping technologies to measure grapevine traits such as tolerance to abiotic stress, product quality or productivity and yield.

Salary:    $81K to $88K per annum plus up to 15.4% superannuation
