The A. R. Smith Department of Chemistry and Fermentation Sciences
invites applications for a tenure-track nine-month faculty
position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Fermentation
Sciences, beginning in August 2019.
Qualifications for this position include a PhD in a discipline
directly related to Fermentation Sciences (e.g. Viticulture and
Enology, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Beverage Science,
Engineering) and demonstrated research or professional experience
in the field. A successful candidate will demonstrate advanced
knowledge of fermentation sciences and have the experience or
knowledge necessary to instruct courses in wine production,
viticulture, wine quality and winery operations. Special
consideration will be given to those candidates with
post-doctoral experience and/or industry experience on wine
production, wine quality, and the chemistry of wine flavor.
Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position
requires completion of all doctoral requirements in chemistry by
May 2019.
