The Experimental Design Seminar will serve as an introduction and overview to this crucially important, and oftentimes neglected, facet of the research process. The seminar will commence with an introduction to design and the important statistical tools available for analyzing the data thus obtained before focusing on practical issues of experimental design for enologists, viticulturists and sensory scientists. Issues pertinent to graduate research, research publication and grant writing will then be discussed; the session will culminate with presentations from recent best paper recipients as to how they designed their experiments.
