The presence of arsenic in wine has received considerable consumer and legal attention lately. UC Davis’ Dr. Carl Winter’s presentation, “Arsenic in Wine: A Scientific Perspective” will discuss the toxicity of arsenic, how it gets into wine and many other foods, and what health risks, if any, are associated with consuming arsenic from food and wine. The presentation will also briefly discuss a related issue, the herbicide glyphosate in wine, and will conclude with a non-traditional finale involving audience participation.

The presentation will take place at the Monterey Marriott Hotel on Wednesday, June 29 at 9:45 a.m.
