Best Paper Award Recipients Announced

ASEV congratulates the 2014 Best Enology and Viticulture paper winners! The authors will be recognized at the 65th ASEV National Conference on June 23-27, 2014, in Austin, Texas.

For viticulture, the Best Paper Award was given to Postveraison Application of Antitranspirant Di-1-p-Menthene to Control Sugar Accumulation in Sangiovese Grapevines by Alberto Palliotti (Universitá di Perugia), Francesco Panara, Franco Famiani, Paolo Sabbatini, G. Stanley Howell, Oriana Silverstroni and Stefano Poni.

While Sensory Impact of Extended Maceration and Regulated Deficit Irrigration on Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon Wines by L. Federico Casassa (Washington State University), Richard C. Larsen, Christopher W. Beaver, Maria S. Mireles, Markus Keller, William R. Riley, Russell Smithyman and James F. Harbertson received the enology recognition.

ASEV would like to thank the Best Paper Awards committee members for their dedication throughout the year for reading dozens of manuscripts to make the tough decisions in selecting this year’s winners.
