ASEV Selects 2019 Best Enology and Viticulture Papers

Congratulations to our 2019 Best Paper Award Winners! The selected papers are highlighted and available for free at www.ajevonline.org. The authors are presented with a plaque and monetary award, and will also be presenting their papers during the 70th ASEV National Conference.

Best Enology Paper: “Impact of Yeast Flocculation and Biofilm Formation on Yeast-Fungus Coadhesion in a Novel Immobilization System,” by Jaime Moreno-Garcia, Teresa Garcia-Martinez, Juan Moreno, Juan Carlos Mauricio, Minami Ogawa, Peter Luong, and Linda Bisson.

Best Viticulture Paper: “Nitrogen Requirements of Pinot noir Based on Growth Parameters, Must Composition, and Fermentation Behavior,” by R. Paul Schreiner, James Osborne, and Patricia A. Skinkis.

Thanks to the hard work of the ASEV Best Paper Awards Committee, who voluntarily committed their time, they were able to select one paper in the field of enology and one in the field of viticulture, which they deemed outstanding in content and provided a substantial contribution to the field. Each year, the committee completes an evaluation of all research papers published in the American Journal of Enology and Viticulture for the prior year.
